Got a letter recently about my mum’s Medicare prescription drug coverage ending if we don’t take action before the year wraps up, and I’m trying to figure out whether this is actually something to worry about given her current situation. She's on hospice care, so almost everything she needs medically is fully covered through the hospice provider, the only exception is two prescriptions that aren’t on the hospice formulary, but they’re cheap out of pocket and we dont expect any non-hospice doctors or hospital visits at this stage.
The letter says if we don’t choose a new plan, he’ll revert to original Medicare with no separate prescription drug coverage. On the surface, that sounds alarming, but with hospice handling nearly everything, is it actually an issue
