If I retire at 55 but don't claim social security until either 62 (that's reduced benefit around $2,100/month) or wait until 67 (full benefit around $2,800/month), how do I properly account for that in my planning?
Do I calculate my withdrawal needs from 55 up until 62 as if social security doesn't exist, then factor it in after?
Or do I somehow average it across the whole retirement period? I don't even know if these dollar amounts I'm seeing in my SS statement are in today's dollars or future inflated dollars. It feels like I'm overcomplicating this but I just have to make sure I'm modeling it correctly.
Appreciate your helpful ideas
