Reached my FIRE about 8 months ago and I seem to be struggling with somethings I didn't expect like the lack of structure and purpose that work provided

I also thought I'd fill my days with hobbies and travel, but turns out freedom from something isn't the same as freedom to do something meaningful
How do I do this ?, am I supposed to find new purpose?

in my opinion, it's a totally normal struggle. your brain spent decades wired to a fixed set of goals and deadlines. You didn't just quit a job, but you lost your default cognitive operating system

purpose often comes from contributing value. try finding a small, low stress volunteer role related to your old career (mentoring, non profit finance). It provides structure, uses your established skills, and gives you that crucial sense of contribution, often fixing the "purpose gap" immediately

@Work champ curious, have you tried dedicating just a few hours a week to something you enjoyed at work but on your own terms? Sometimes dipping your toes back in gives enough structure without stress.
